Sustainability

ALBERTS is a member of the Sustainable Salons network which means:

  • We recycle our paper, plastics, metals and chemicals.
  • We repurpose all the hair that is cut in salon to create 'hair booms' which are a crucial tool in absorbing oil spills in the ocean and on land.
  • All proceeds Sustainable Salons receives for their recycling initiative goes towards providing meals through KiwiHarvest.
  • Ponytails can be donated to help create wigs for those that suffer medically induced hair loss.

Caring for our planet and making choices that respect the world in which we live has been at the forefront of Alberts since its conception 27 years ago.
Together we are part of the Sustainable Salons NZ Program, every appointment you pay $3 towards helping the planet. Your fee ensures the 'waste' created from your hair service is repurposed, even your hair, so it doesn't have a negative environmental impact. 
This supports our ongoing commitment to reduce our ecological footprint, achieve zero waste and support charitable causes.
